HP tuner pro licensing year model ???

So if I buy a new kit which has 8 credits I can license a year model with 6? Does HPT consider 0411 PCM from 99-02 Camaro, Firebird, and TA the "same"?

No you would have to buy unlimited for each year, 99,00,01, & 02 if you wanted to be able to tune all of those without using a license.

I was gonna report that back...they said just that but as the except to the normal rule, they do recognize camaro, firebird, and trans am of a year model as the same...

Now next question, when I buy a PCM off a popular auction site for $89 "flashed to my vin" would the HPtuner then see it as same year? Im not trying to get over on HPT and make money, I am trying to figure out what its gonna cost to do all 3 of my projects including 2 daily drivers...

I've considered the same thing for a few PCMs as I do a lot of 5.3 swaps and I usually am putting a VIN on them via Tech2. May as well put the same VIN on all of em and do as many as you want.

If the ECM you buy off a said site, was say originally from a 98 S-10, and someone flashes over a different OS, and changes the VIN, you may end up with a VIN mismatch issue on HP Tuners. They know what VIN's match what OS's and what serial # on the ecm. I don't know all of the in's and out's, so I am not the "authority" in this area, just regurgitating what I have read/seen as issues. Just don't want you getting screwed without any knowledge.

98 S10 pcm's wouldn't work at all since they're the old black 4 connector pcm's. S10's and Astro vans didn't change to the twin 80 pin connectors 2001. If you're using a 2002 S10 or Astro van 4.3l 411 pcm, the vcid will match the F body OS since the both use the 2156 os. You'd still need some body to flash a F body vin into the pcm since using your HP Tuner cable would require the use of credits to do that
