Tuning advice

Have a 01 z71 Silverado just swap a 04 ls1/6 in it with all truck accessories. Also installed headers and egr delet question is how bad should it run befor tune. Starts up idels fine when driving has zero power won't get out of its own way?? Any one done a swap similar ??

My daughter recently bought a '03(?) Suburban with LQ4 engine. She got a great price because it was wayyyy down on power. Turned out to be a clogged catalytic converter.

That burned me on a dyno. Quite a lot.

Yeah I'll be going with a ""off road y pipe" but I can't see them being clogged swap took about a month and never had issue with cats be for swap

Just curious how bad it should run befor the tune ecm still thinks it's a 290hp 5.3 not the ls1/6 that's in now first time doing this swap

I don't know about trimming itself, etc, but a quick look at the stock tables on my 04 5.3 suburban vs my stock LS1 f-body tunes, and they aren't even close. The 5.3 is way down on timing. The VE's are way different as well.

So, if you're still on your stock tune, it probably will feel sluggish - low on fuel and timing
