Default Crash course in using HPT...

I'm teaching someone how to use their HPT...

can someone point me to a concise/condensed/quickie how-to summary...?

I'm probably going to have 1-2 hours to squeeze it all in

Please/Thanks

( I use EFILive )

I'll simply walk him thru the Help on the HPT website

( how to use, not how to tune )

Joe if you can figure out EFI Live, HP tuners is going to seem like falling off a log. There are a lot of video demos in the stickies on the HP Tuners forum.

Yes, I use the VCM editor offen, but when I try to view logs it seems the scanner is missing a cfg file...

but mostly I have to teach him how to log and do various basic tasks.

The Gen3 stuff also applies to GenIV with a few small differences (actual VE vs virtual VE).

There are quite a few more differences than that.

Sure, there are many more tables, but what you already know about (and relating to) VE (now in virtual form), MAF, IFR, OLFA, PE, trims, spark, idle and other things still applies (even tho some of those tables may now look different).

Joe there is a VVE tool built in the 2.25 Beta only. To tune VVE with the public release 2.24 you have to use the Bluecat VVE tool. It's easy to find and download. Look for a thread in their GM Gen4 sub forum.
