LQ9/LS2 Spark Advance
Right, before I get flamed.... I know this can only be determined through dyno and careful tuning - that will come.
But, I am writing a base map for my MS3x install on my LQ9 in my 2nd gen Camaro.
I'm good with everything except the ignition/spark advance table. I've done a bit of reading and it seems the safe starting point varies massively...between 20 and 30 deg at WOT.
My current base is in the image below, it's more or less a rescaled version of the standard MS3 map.
Question is, am I in the ballpark of something that's safe and workable, that I can then tune at the strip and get it honed in?
The engine specs are:
LQ9 block - std bore
10.5 CR
317 heads - with a *lot* of work
Cammotion cam (236/242 @ .050, .621/.612 lift)
TSP intake

The cathedral setup is going to like 26-28* on pump. If it were mine I would do exactly what you have. Start at 24 and then use dyno or trap speed to see if it picks up with more.
You have reasonable compression and a mid size cam. Timing is probably going to fall right in the middle too.
