Idle hang with a/c on?
when a/c is turned on,I can be sitting at idle and turn the a/c on then rpms jump up to 1800-2000, turn a/c off and it goes away, replaced i.a.c ,still does it,I do have hp tuners but,I'm very new to using it? Can yall help me out,I don't really know what I should be lookin for in the tune to fix this issue,?
Thanx
your real motor VE, the VE table has probably not been
trued up and the model for motor torque vs added air
is also way off. This latter comes into play via the A/C
drag torque -> "add air to compensate" mechanism.
The A/C drag torque is unchanged but the motor
response to it, has. You are evidently adding more
than it needs and more than the closed loop idle RPM
control can pull back out (though, do you give it the
time it might need, to do so? Let it sit, and see?).
This can also be aggravated by manifold air (vacuum)
leaks, skewing the entire controlled-air-mass vs IAC
relation beyond the control range when adder-air is
pushed (maybe just barely in control when A/C off).
Look to your IAC counts, if they are bottomed out
then look for a gross air leak. If hovering in the control
range (100-200-ish) then this idle RPM pedestal is
wilful (just jacked).
