If you have to ask how to tune a cammed FI engine then you should probably have it tuned by someone who knows how. Be aware that one wrong WOT run can leave you with broken ring lands.

Here's a little more background. I have a buddy who has done lots of LS tuning. He's helping me along with it. I'm not gonna hop in the car and beat on it without knowing what I'm doing, or having him with me. I'm trying to save some of his time (as he is extremely busy) by looking for tips and advice from those who have done it...if they feel like sharing. I ask questions so I can educate myself, but I'm not an idiot.

Ok then here are tips and advise. For the FI, tune the VE, run low timing and run it rich to start out. If you've searched and read tons, you should know how to tune for the cam and make it idle as there is plenty out there on how to do that.

Probably the worst thing you can do starting out tuning is to blindly copy / paste someone else's "tune". It's one thing to pick and choose multiple choice options from a handheld pre-programmed flash tuner. But using software like HPT or EFI Live is quite another experience. You really need to know what the tables are controlling before you make changes. When you get to the point where you can ask specific questions, then this forum can be of help. But a generic "where do I start" will always be answered with "find someone else to do it".
I don't think calibrating a forced induction, heads/cam LS1 compares to sticking the landing of a rocket engine on a ship at sea - but dialing in a tune is complicated and misinformation can have expensive consequences.

Here's an update. Car starts great, idles terrific. I've been working on my hanging idle issue now and I think I'm almost there. Need to lower the idle a little more then I can dial in the base airflow. Progress....it's all about small victories!

I'm not looking to copy anyone's tune. What I like to do is learn from what others have done, get a good understanding of it, and then apply the principles to my car. Every car, motor and setup is different, and I get that completely. I wouldn't be progressing as I have been ignite wasn't for the help of others, especially a good friend of mine who is helping me through it so I can learn as I go.

GR2000 - I would certainly like to see your tune. It may help me setup my tables in boost.

Thanks a lot guys.
