Default Need help with Magnacharger tune

I installed a 2006 Tahoe 5.3/4L60E in my 69 suburban. I also installed a used a 1200 Magnacharger, with 17113739 42# injectors and am running a returnless style fuel system. Since I bought the supercharger used, I was not able to get the factory programmer that comes with Magnacharger's new units in order to install their basic tune. I called Magnacharger directly, but as of yet, they haven't ben able to help. If any one has a copy Magnacharger's MP 112 basic tune, to include all the correct fuel injector data I would be greatly appreciative. Please let me know if you have any other questions on my request. Thanks in advance.

Rob

Just buy a tuning suite like HP Tuners or EFI Live and tune it correctly with a multi bar operating system.

Iirc, OP uses HP Tuners on this and his other rigs.

Pretty sure he's asking for a base tune and some injector data.

Hart, I'm on my mac book so I can't access any tunes, but there are a couple magnacharger tunes in the HPT tune repository that might be a good jumping off point. I don't have any data for the 42lbers but you could probably find those too in there. Just select make:chevrolet and search tags "magnacharger" or "42lb" and you should come up with at least a coupe tunes for each.

of course you'll either have to license your pcm, ugrade it to 2 or 3 bar speed density and then copy & paste the data from the repository tunes, or you can just pay the credits to license the tune you find.

cheers and nice work on a another clean ride!

I have HPTuners Pro, just need the correct injector data to get started.

Thanks. I think I'll be maxed out at around 5 PSI boost, so I haven't upgraded to a 2 bar setup yet as I didn't think it was necessary. As far as the injector data, I've searched high and low. I've seen two different static numbers listed for these injectors 37.95 and 42 lbs/hr for a static flow rate. Also to add to the confusion, I'm running a returnless fuel system (Corvette fuel pressure regulator that's giving me ~50psi at the rail), and need a sloped IFR, not a straightline one used for a boost reference FPR. Any help would be greatkt appreciated.

I found this data and it says the injectors are rated at 42lbs at 58 psi.....

https://www.fiveomotorsport.com/delphi-marine-17113739

You'd think this would be as simple as calling Magnacharger and getting the data...

There's four sets of 8.1 injectors...

The trucks use 30lbs @ 3-bar, and the marine applications use 42, 43, and 44 @ 3-bar...

I don't know what is what.

Factory rail pressure. It Should be 58 PSI on Non Return style.

No, That is the data straight from a Magnacharger base tune loaded into my personal 06 GMC from the Shitty super chips they send out with the blower kit.

Agree on the 58 psi, I think I have a faulty FPR. Changing that out tonight. I wonder why they flatlined the base tune numbers at 46? Did you leave them that way? Could you possibly send me a copy of your tune so I can compare the other numbers? Thanks, Rob

If Magnacharger Fked up the IFR table that much I wouldn't use any part of their tune.

OP, just forget about the Magnacharger supplied tune and tune it correctly. Just because a Mfgr supplies a tune doesn't mean it's correct. Some of the worst Mfgr supplied tunes I've seen were the ones supplied with Prochargers on a Diablo Preditor.

Have you seen Hennessey corvette tune on there 750 HP package?

It looks like they added a cam, long tube headers and changed the pulley on the supercharger for more boost.

Lets just say It looks mostly stock...

I agree with you 100%, however I still need the correct injector data to do that....

Sorry, I forgot in HPT you have to move the decimal place over to get the error correction.

Here is the injector data moved out until it zeros out and backed off.

Well I can guarantee you that IFR data in that posted table is not correct for either a return or a return less fuel system. And I doubt they have correct data for all the other injector tables either. Either try and find correct data based on a part # on the injector or buy some injectors that come with data. Either way most injectors are going to be rated at 3 bar so you have to scale at least the IFR table for the fuel pressure you are running. Don't take offense, but that is Basic Tuning 101. If you can't do that with the myriad of spread sheets around on the web then you should probably not be trying to tune it yourself.
