Cammed/stalled 1998 SS idle problems
98 SS LS1, mild-cammed (228/234 .600/.600 113lsa) / 3600 stall /headers / ls6 intake.
I have a problem with my idle or something related to it. Any time I am in park and I shift to drive/reverse or I go from drive/reverse and switch to the other, my engine bogs down and almost stalls then spends about 5 seconds trying to catch itself (surging) and idle properly. Today while driving slowly (around 15mph) I let off the gas to make a turn and my engine actually did stall out. Also if I'm in park and the engine is warm and I rev it up to 3k+ then quickly let go of the gas, the engine doesn't catch itself in time to idle at the right RPM and then it does the surging again until it catches itself.
Any ideas? I am in contact with my tuner waiting for him to respond, could just be that there is more work needed on the tune. I am highly suspicious of the IAC valve being bad, but I want more input on this. It's really bugging me as I can't enjoy my car like I should due to these issues.

Yes stock MAF. I am thinking it's tune and possibly IAC related. I go to a pretty reputable tuner in MD (even though he's pretty slow to respond) and he's tuned this thing like 3 times. So at some point I'm thinking it has to be mechanical.
Do you think I should try some MAF cleaner?
