Problems with air inlet temp sensor
could this cause the car to run bad at the strip the track times i got really stunk but I dont know what to do to fix the problem
if you got any ideas please let me know back? Might try jumpering the connector pins w/
a resistor that's somewhere in the sane value
range (check the Helm book) and see if you are
getting a roughly-right reading off the scanner
then. If no, check that the harness is throwing
some voltage or current at it at least, down to
the sensor end. That should say whether it's a
physical or psycholgical problem.
if it reports -38 degrees at some or all the time then there is a wiring or connector problem.
If values look somewhat normal but are much higher then what the outside air temp is then something is wrong with where aircleaner air is coming from or where IAT is located.
Also look to see what ECT water temp is reading.
Windows 98, NT, ME XP or 2000
Pentium 166 MHz or greater or 100% compatible computer
32 MB RAM ( if using Win98)
Large capacity hard disk drive
One free serial communication port,
(best case is it has a 9 pin serial comm port rather then USB.)
CD-ROM Drive
As to the PCM scanner I prefer the Ease GM Enhanced OBD-II scanner, I have used it for over 3 years on hundreds of GM cars or light trucks and it always works correctly and supports all GM's functions.
With the scanner you would instantly know what your intake temps are or if something is broken.

to tune you would need LS1edit and it tunes but does not do PCM scanning
The Ease scanner is better then the Autotap and yes you can have the scanner recording while driving and then later replay it to see what all the engine and trannie functions were doing
