Air fuel Ratio

I would NOT spilce the O2 wire itself for if you do you just cut off the outside air reference channel that is in the wire and then the O2 will report incorrectly.
You would splice the wire on the PCM side but frankly AFR meters are useless since they only tell what one side of the engine is and both sides are never totally equal in exhaust content.

But being as the readout of the stock sensor is pretty
bogus in the region of interest, one side is about as
good as another.
Up by the PCM connector is probably best. On a 2002
PCM connector C1 (blue):
25 TAN 1671 HO2S Low Signal Bank 2 Sensor 2
26 TAN 1667 HO2S Low Signal Bank 2 Sensor 1
27 ---- Not Used
28 TAN/WHT 1669HO2S Low Signal Bank 1 Sensor 2
29 TAN/WHT 1653HO2S Low Signal Bank 1 Sensor 1
65 PPL 1670 HO2S High Signal Bank 2 Sensor 2
66 PPL 1666 HO2S High Signal Bank 2 Sensor 1 <<
67 ---- Not Used
68 PPL/WHT 1668HO2S High Signal Bank 1 Sensor 2
69 PPL/WHT 1665HO2S High Signal Bank 1 Sensor 1 <<
I think your '00 should be the same.
