o2 sensor bad ground?
im trying to find out if my o2 has a bad ground on the harness. im not using the downstream sensors my question is can I plug the upstream in to the down stream and swap the info on hptuners? basically using the downstream harness for the upstream until I track it down? sensor is brand new and only reading 448 on hptuners
Not without swapping the wires on the PCM plug. O2 sensor position assignment is not software selectable. And there are 2 grounds on a 4 wire O2 sensor. There is the signal ground that always runs to the PCM and the heater ground which depending on the model year can either be tied to chassis ground or supplied by a PCM output.
Umad?
Are you trying to say I cant use a 1, 2, or 3 wire random narrowband sensor in a random 4.x 5.x or 6.xL V8 engine made by chevrolet? Because I would bet you some serious $$ it will work just fine, any random narrowband from any car with the same thread, out of thousands available, will work. Let me know if you want to back up that challenge with some real $$. And stop being mad when people post that know more than you kthx.
