Speed Density tune to pass CA obd scan Hey guys, currenty have my sierra tuned to run in speed density, which still has 2 dtc's that set, but the MIL is turned off. I need to smog the truck for a sale, and in CA I cant have any DTC's detected by the scanner. I was hoping someone can help me figure out what to change in HPT's need to be made so I can at least have it pass the OBD test, then I can just revert back to the SD tune.
I guess just turning off the codes will cause the truck to not run or run very poorly. I just need it run enough to have all the readiness codes complete and not DTC's

Well my concern is turning off the dtcs for the MAF that pop up due to the truck running speed density. I haven't tried turning the codes off but my concern is will it be cause an issue with running in general? Obviously this would be just for a short time to smog it
I'm guessing that the MAF is still hooked up to pass visual inspection? If that is the case, then you need to set the MAF fail to 0, which I had mistakenly assumed you already did as part of the SD tune. Otherwise, your dynamic airflow will think it is half of reality (give or take measuring error), and fubar your tune.

"no error reported" doesn't leave anything pending. If you have a code pending it will NOT pass.

I have the same problem in TX. I kept my MAF in the garage and just hook it back in for inspections. I have a tune that has the maf turned on and tuned to run "ok" to the inspection place and back. It's easy that way.
