Default Question Concerning The Holley EFI?

I have a 1998 Camaro with a single turbo with a LQ4 truck engine and was wanting to know if the Holley EFI with work with the truck computer? I got the complete computer fuse box and wiring harness when i bought the engine. The only thing I changed is i went to a cable throttle body instead of using the truck pedal which i have as well? Will the Holley EFI plug into the truck computer and will it work with the cable throttle body? I'm new to computer cars and need a little help and advise! Thanks Bill

The Holley is a stand alone computer. People piggyback for other reasons, but it's rare. You won't need or want the stock ECU.

The Holley will work fine with a cable TB.

I guess I'm confused? I thought the Holley EFI plugged into the stock computer and the Holley Dominator was a stand alone computer?

What Holley product do you have? I'm not aware of any Holley EFI product that plugs into any stock computer.

Don't have any yet thats the reason for the questions before buying! For some reason I was thinking that the Holley EFI the lesser of the two (Holley dominator being the better one) plugged into the stock computer? If i misread read and misunderstood thats a good thing for me. I see summit has the Holley EFI on sale right now for a great price and if its a stand alone then I'll be getting it. For some reason I thought the Holley Dominator was the stand alone and the other plugged into the factory computer!

Nope. Even the Holley HP is a stand alone. Download the software for free, mess around with it. Read the hundreds of pages of free information from Holley's websites dealing with the different platforms.

I can tell you right now, if you're turbocharged... You more than likely want the Dominator. You are going to run out of inputs/outputs very quickly.

Keep reading. You'll be glad you did.

Perhaps more importantly, only the Holley Dominator supports an automatic transmission. In other words, only the Dominator is a full replacement for the GM PCM.
Of course if you have a manual trans, you don't need automatic trans support.

No electronics in the T400, so a standalone won't be able to control it.

Technically speaking, it can control it. But it'll need other ways to do it. Like a C02 system, solenoid and air cylinder.
Using an output channel to control the solenoid, and make it upshift. But does matter what shifter is in the car.
