Default Vehicle mileage in PCM?

I'm asking if the vehicle's total mileage is recorded in the PCM of a 08 Silverado.

Thanks

If it's similar to the older PCM's, the mileage is stored in the gauge cluster and not the PCM.

I have heard the same thing. I wanted the mileage on my pulled engine and the VIN of the original vehicle it came out of and I can only get the VIN out of my PCM. So I just have to trust that it really does have the stated 150,000 miles on the odometer.

It's in your cluster not pcm.

Run a car fax on the vin number. It will tell you the last reported mileage from when it was the inspected.

Yep stored in the cluster. I usually get the clusters and hook them up in my Silverado or buddies vehicle real quick to check it.
