Default Will a tune fix this problem??

Can anyone help me out and let me know if a tune will fix my problem??? I have a brand new motor with less than 7 miles on it. It has a fairly loud ticking noise coming from the driverside wheel well. Sounds like it might be in the heads near cylinder 5 or 7. Everything is brand new on the engine including the exhaust from headers back to exhuast tip. I pulled the valve covers off and rechecked the rocker arms and had to re adjust 3 and 5 cylinder rocket arms a little and I changed all the sparkplugs and found number 7 cylinder fouled then I blew the number 7 fuel injector o ring twice on the crappy fast fuel rail. I replaced fuel rails and all injectors because I figured maybe I had a bad injector that was leaking down and causing the engine to make a fuel ping, however it is still making the sound. The 5.3 liter had the DOD deleted out of the computer and it had all that crap taken off the engine and the proper cam and lifters installed as part of the trickflow 205 genx top end kit with the harlan sharp roller rockers.. Could it not being tuned yet make a fairly loud tapping/ ticking sound? Please help !!! I am growing frustrated with this 5.3 liter. oh and the ticking sounds speeds up with rpms. Oil pressure is good at about 45 psi and engine temp is good at 195 and it is currently running very rich as I can smell gas in the exhuast

Why do you think its a tuning issue? You think theres something in the tune that will specifically make your engine tick? It's a mechanical component likely an exhaust leak or possibly a lifter, considering your rockers loosened up.

Not trying to sound like a dick, but you remind me of the "******* tune" meme. Lol.

Seabee, he likely knows a LOT more than you, if you ask if the tune can fix a tapping sound. REALLY??? The ECM controls ALL electrical function on your engine. Mechanical malfunction is beyond its scope, but you seem too dense to know that. Subeone is an ace tuner, which you are sure not! A tune making a ticking sound.... surely a new one. Subeone is right about you... so drop the attitude.

https://www.google.com/amp/s/jalopni...-499902815/amp. So I guess you can't control fuel trims, ignition timing ect. To an exstent thru the ECM/ECU when tuning?? And yes you are right it is probably mechanical , however some of the mechanical is affected by the electrical, but I guess you already knew that and didnt need to hear it from a novice like myself.

secondly I am not the one that came off with the attitude first, was just asking a question so forgive me if you got offended God forbid.

Thirdly I dont claim to know it all that's why I asked the question duh? Thanks for your response and have a great evening ACE tuner.

The attitude showed up in Post #3...
And of course fuel trims and timing can be addressed in the tune, but that does NOT address mechanical malfunctions.
For someone looking for help, you seem to think more of yourself than of those trying to help.

Make sure all of the pushrods are in the lifter seats. Sometimes you can miss the lifter and it is free to slap. (I did it)

Good point, I didnt even think of that. I think they are good to go but it doesn't hurt to go back and check the push rods. Thanks for the advice.

All thanks for the help. It ended up being 2 bad injectors even though they were new. Put in the new injectors and all is quiet and running good.
