Are you running MAF? What is hooked up? Or not hooked up?

yes it is a steep learning curve BUT chopperdoc on here is putting up some great how to videos as well as you can find them on the net
in the end you tuned it yourself and can really dial it in for best performence
OP - It is a steep learning curve, but not impossible. Just sounds like it needs a tune brother. Get the VE dialed in, and the other consideration is if you have a ton of overlap, you will get a "false lean" condition from oxygen escaping into the exhaust. When fuel trims are enabled (STFT) this will cause some really rich conditions at low RPM. There are quite a few ways around this. One is simply doing an "open loop idle" by enabling Power Enrichment at idle which effectively disables fuel trims any time it's on. I included this in my idle tuning guide.
