The car did run fine with my stock AC delco sensors but they were old which is why I changed them when I did the heads/cam swap. Its funny when I originally posted my build thread a lot of people including trick flow recommended running OLSD. BTR also recommended it. But there is a massive amount of data that supports running O2 sensors perhaps there is a gremlin that I missed in the wiring harness. Any how Hopefully this thread will help people down the road and if I fall into an issue with the tune I have now OLmaf I will update this post. As of now car runs great!! Patrick is a great tuner!!
just noticed you are running Bosch sensors. I never had good luck with them. Ngk, ntk or denso only for me.

Not to debate, or even disagree, but just to share completely different results...
I've never, in 38 years of doing this crap, had an issue with a Bosch O2 sensor.
20+ years ago, while in the midst of a Fox body Mustang craze, lol, I regularly, and successfully, used Bosch narrowbands to tune WOT fueling on a supercharged LX running straight Torco 118 octane leaded gas. I would have to replace them 3-4 times a season because of the lead killing them, but WIDEBANDS back then, were for the rich guys, and/or dyno shops. Us normal people couldn't afford them.

Looking back, it was a flirtation with disaster, as that car made (again 20+ years ago) 500+ rwhp, with 42# green top injectors, running static at 100% duty cycle...lol.

That being said, I have narrowband DENSO # 234-4617 oxygen sensors on my TransAm because their harness is more than long enough to work with ANY longtube headers, although mine are now "OFF" (open loop MAF) due to them always showing RICH, with the E-85...Don't have that issue with the factory narrowbands on my truck though...

Ironically, I use a BOSCH #17025 sensor with my 30-4110 AEM wideband gauge on my car, and a BOSCH #17108 sensor on my truck (AEM 30-4100 gauge), also running on flex fuel most of the time.

I can not for the life of me get this e38 ecm to run CL. Not a big fan of the coefficient system and the virtual VE table thing. Just doesn’t tune like the ls1 pcm.

Anyways it runs far better and fueling far more on using OL. And further more I like the way it runs/drives in OLSD. If I wanted to get particular I could “work around” the OL and use iat for temp correction... but summer is short here and lucky to drive it four times a month during the summer. Weather not to particular different when it’s driven. So OL isn’t really a problem... for me anyway.

yeah the e38 is a learning curve, but once you figure it out it tunes just like a p1 or p59. and having the ability to work with 58x and the 6Lx0e series transmissions. cesar enriquez has a good youtube video on tuning the VVE

I've had multiple Bosch 13111's crap out on me. NGK's are great. This is specific to narrowband stuff, not wideband. Bosch widebands have been fine for me.

ive had good luck with Bosch wide bands but not narrow bands.

Old thread but I run my pickup on OL because it won’t idle CL.

it runs great.. holds the afr well regardless of the outside temp.

I spent a year messing with it before I threw in the towel. If it gets 18mpg with a big stall and cam, then apparently I don’t need those o2 sensors lol
