4L60E manual gear change
Hi, just wondering if someone can look at my tune and tell me what I need to change for the gear selection, tune is attached. When I'am at the track I select D1 hold it till max rpm then select D2, then I hold D2 till it reaches max RPM and it changes into D3 by its self, I want it to stay in D2 till I select D3? Thanks in Advance.

Be aware when setting shift points on a stock 4l60e that 6250 is about the max rpm you can rev it. If it's been modified to level 2 or 3 then max rpm can be raised but it depends on the build. Search on PBA in the Auto Trans forum for his opinion.
But the above is also relative to tire height if greater than stock and rear end ratio as well and torque converter.
There is a thread in this forum that addressed this issue concerning a stock auto and rpm's. Search on posts by ddnspider.
I think most just put the gear selector in d and let the PCM do the shifting for you. Check out and search in the Transmission forum. There are quite a few posts about shift points on that forum and the best method - whether to shift manually or not. Manually downshifting can be destructive.
Dan Maslic has chapters devoted to 4l60e tranmission tuning written with EFI Live and HPTuners. The chapters explain theory as well the real world examples for transmission tuning the A4 in an fbody.. IMO you want to read his explanation about shift pointsl, torque management, etc. before accepting something like ' well this is how I have mine setup'.
Click on this link to read some of his tuning tips which are out of the book - word for word.
