I worked on an F-Body that had the same MAF about 10 years ago. I could not get it to idle nice with the MAF. If I went SD it held a beautiful idle. I've also heard that a few more people have had issues with the 4" MAF on the F-Body. I think it could either be the P01 PCM does not work well with it, or the way the intake tract is set up that does not allow enough straight pipe before the sensor. Just for fun, if you happen to have a 4" CAI for another car around or maybe put a piece of straight 4" pipe at least 6" long in front of it and try and see if you can get it to idle nice. I have a 4" CAI with a cone attached directly to a 4" MAF on my 04 GTO with the P59 and I can get a nice idle from it.
