Default Least expensive way to tune for a torque converter?

I am curious, what's the least expensive way to get my car tuned for a torque converter? Or can I get along fairly well with a 3500 stall untuned in a 2002?

most of the time you do not need anything. Occasionally, a lighter, high stall converter will require a shift point tweak (look for a used HPP3) or an idle tweak (free - just turn the idle set screw).

Ditto,

You'll run faster with a tune to the shift points and the lock-up may be annoying, but the car should still be very drivable on the stock tune with that stall.
