Scan tool not connecting to PCM 99 firebird 3.8
I have used 2 different scan tools, tried 2 PCM units and can't get it to connect. I have power to obd2. Checked all fuses. Sprayed all connections with electrical cleaner. The car will start and idle but no throttle response and all the dash warning lights are on.

First thought is a wiring issue to the PCM. We've had stuff like this happen to folks before. (Sometimes after some animal has gotten into the engine bay and chewed on a harness or a harness got too close to a hot part in the engine bay.)
Can you tell us more about the car? Is this a conversion? Did something happen all of a sudden? Is this a restoration? Has the car been in storage?

I bought the car like it is for $300 so I don't know much about it. It's not a conversion. There are some after market gauges located left side windshield vertically. I'm not finding any wires that have been chewed on ...

Oddball question......but what kind of scan tool are you using? If it's one of those ELM327-based dongles, beware of the cheapie ones. I personally have had problems with them, as they are missing the circuitry to connect to older, J1850/Class 2 protocol based cars through Pin 2 on the OBD connector.
