Default '98 Corvette LS1 swap...

I have a 68k original mile 1998 Corvette 5.7 LS1 and a 4L80 that I am putting into a 1955 Chevy pickup and am building.
I'm just now hearing about the 97-98 "bastard ECU" complaints and I'm curious:
Since this is a full-on swap into a truck and I'm not concerned about stock gauges or other "replacement" type swap-considerations; can I just get a 99+ LS1 ECU and standalone harness and keep my DBW throttle?

Yes, you can. I’d suggest an ECU programmed for an 02 Corvette. It’s a better operating system than 99-00.
You will also need the corvette gas pedal and TAC module.

The simple answer is yes. If you're keeping the drive by wire, you're going to get a DBW stand alone harness, along with the correct TAC module to work with the OS you're running in the PCM. You'll also need the jumper wire between the TAC module and the pedal. Personally I feel you're better off doing it this way, since you'll have all new wiring and you're not going to have to deal with removing all the excessive factory wiring
