Default LS1 START and KILL

I have a 1999 GMC SIERRA, came with 4.3 V6 swapped beefed up 5.3/4L60E. Stock intake, BTR stage 4 truck cam, upgrade valve springs, pushrods, 243/799 heads worked, new crank/cam sensor. Went to junk yard and found a harness that plugs into fuse box to operate dash. Everything is plugged up, new plugs/wires, all coils are good. My problem is, it starts and kill. VATS have been disabled. If I crank and put my foot on pedal, it’ll stay running, soon as I left off, kills. I have new fuel pump also. If anyone has ran into this problem, can you please help.

Under the hood engine harness for V8 is differnt than a V6. The V6 harness is only wired for six injectors.

Well I was trying to help..LOL

Unfortunatley I'm unable to go into more detail on how to resolve his issue. Even thouh he may have gotten a V8 harness for the engine he still needs to address the INJ2 on the underhood harness. At least that is an issue with trying to use a V6 underhood harness for a V8 engine in the 99 Camaro.

I replaced the v6 harness with a V8 harness, harness has 8 multec injectors plugs.

Did you replace the underhood harneess with the fuse block as well or just the engine harness?

Replaced harness and fuse block.

Not much to go on, but my first guess is 'desired airflow.' If that's too low the engine won't get enough air to keep idling.

VATS are off, but has the engine actually been tuned for the new cam?
Is the ECU the original one for that engine? What about the injectors, are those the ones to match that ECU?
Did you check pushrod length and order what was needed, or just buy pushrods and toss them in?
And 50% of the time this happens, it turns out the VATS weren't actually turned off despite claims that they absolutely were.

Having to pedal the throttle is a really good sign that either the base running airflow needs to be increased and/or you need more bypass airflow from the throttle body set screw.

there might be other issues also but the above should help with you having to hold throttle
