I have a 5.3 with cnc ported heads, fast intake a summit stage 4 truck cam and a small vortech supercharger. My question is it holds a steady 10 in of vacuum at idle. Does this sound right? I'm trying to figure out returning to idle problem.

The 8714R1 stage 4 Pro LS truck cam does have an early 5* IVO and 4* of overlap. We'd like to try and help get this return to idle problem smoothed out. What is your method of tuning and what is your desired idle rpm? Is this DBC or DBW and what particular throttle body are you using? Let us know about these and we'll assist you from there.

It's a dbc 102 nick Williams throttle body target idle is 800. I got a mail order base tune ve based. I did find a vacuum leak at the iac I'm going to fix that and see how much it helps. Thanks for your reply

A vacuum leak will certainly cause idle problems. That's a good first step to get that taken care of. If that doesn't fix it check with the mail-order tuner to see if they offer free/discounted adjustments to the tune. If so then get some logs sent to them so they can send an adjusted tune. If that doesn't fix it or isn't available we'd recommend getting with a shop that can get it on the rollers and or street tune. You can't beat a custom tune from a reputable shop/tuner that can be with the vehicle.
