Default 0411 PCM --- how much RWHP can this PCM reliably support on a boost set up?

I'm talking about a good solid tune. Can it support 18psi on a boosted application?

as much power as your engine can make or your tooner can keep together.
i cant think of a reason the ecu would be a limiting factor until you need low z injectors or 16 injectors. maybe too much rpm but i havent heard of an 0411 not being about to spin up. you can scale the map sensor to anything. bosch 210 injectors are high impedence.

Ok, good to hear. I was figuring I'd rather repin my 1998 factory PCM and upgrade to the 0411 instead. I mean if it'll do it why waste the cash and waiting time on a Holley or Microsquirt. The set up is nothing special/exotic anyway. 15-18psi is probably realistically what it'll see.
Bosche 210's are exectly what I was going to get for it.

I guess change the MAP sensor its good to start tuning?

The aftermarket ecus give you an ‘all in one’ box that is more flexible and convenient. Built in boost control, engine safeties, etc.
I drove for years on a tt awd Silverado at 18 psi with a 0411 ecu. Separate wideband, separate boost control, couple other separate controllers I built myself. The 0411s only job was fuel spark and trans control and it did that quite well. I am no sbe baller running 8800 rpm (yet?) but I regularly saw 76-7700 without problems.

Yup, made 1200 rwhp for years before going standalone.

For years we raced nitrous and boosted cars well over 1,000 rwhp on stock 411 pcm's. Its pretty much all we had then. As time went on it was easier and easier once E38's came out but we still run holley every chance we get. Just the safety's alone you can do with holley make it worth every penny IMO.

Whats an E38?

Can it tune the engine/trans better than an 0411 and still operate all factory guages in the cluster?

An E38 is a ECU for the engine only AND is for 58x reluctor cranks,

As for using a 0411, its the one that has boost tables in it, The one used in the Gran Prix GTPs did as well, but they aren't as reliable as the 0411. In the words of James Short, " If you brick a 0411, You really screwed up!"
But if planning to make big boost and controlling it with all the supporting components, you need to look at an aftermarket standalone. There are so many more safety parameters in the software than a 0411 will never have.
Terminator or HP EFI is a good choice. Fueltech is awesome but you have to buy a lot to connect supporting things. The nice thing about Fueltech is the display IS the ECU.
Or if you can find and AEM Infinity that supports the LS and get it pretty cheap. Guys are switching over since Holley dropped the AEM Infinity ecu line. Support is still there but the manufacturing is done.
