Multiple the 400 800 1200 in the Main VE table by .7 (70%), the whole columns. Just make sure you highlight the 1st 3 columns when you set it to .7 and hit multiply.
This will reduce the fuel on start up.
Save file and upload it!

you want to put the .7 in the box, make sure you highlight the 1st 3 columns and hit the times button, then hit commit and save table.
Save the file (call it something different) and then upload.

ECT is engine coolant temp.
I would recommend hitting the VE table slower
(more incrementally). The degree to which it
needs modified, depends a lot on the cam you
have (its overlap mainly I think). If you only
needed to shave, say, 15% off the volumetric
efficiency to represent it, multiplying by 0.7
right off the bat would put you as far wrong as
before, only to the lean side.
So maybe try multiplying those columns by 0.9,
try it & note any change, tomorrow try another
0.9 scaling (0.81x total), ... and be sure you
have shotgunned the space enough to find the
sweet spot. Don't want to step right over it.
IAC airflow vs ECT is a way to set the idle
"floor" just like the old fast idle cam on your
carb choke linkage. If you have a cold (or
hot) "crashing" problem I guess this can be
a backstop for you (it might override the
RPM setting or fight with it, dunno about
who wins). That kind of detail the HPTuners
gurus would have to give you....

From all the cars that I have tuned, the bigger the cam the more the 1st 3 tables need to be lowered. By reducing this, you only lean it out for start ups. Once it starts up the A/F will be fine, I just checked mine on the dyno and in open loop it was 12.0-12.7 A/F
If you really have a TR 224 cam, I'd do 70 75 80.... Any change you make will help!

Billiumss,I did this change in 400,800 and 1200 I highlighted them all from top to bottom, made the change and Hot Start is MUCH Better ,I will wait a day or 2 to see what happens,When I go to work in the Morning will be the real test.I was going to ask if this affects WOT,because mine was dyno tuned. If it doesnt mess with that I will be a happy Camper I have the MTI X1 Cam...Thanks again...

Thanks!!!
Scott, what mutipliers did you use for the load that you have in the car now? If hot and cold starts are fine, then your good to go! But if it still gives you trouble you might have to tweak it some more. You might also want to adjust the IAC table a bit too.
By making these changes, it will not affect your WOT dyno tune at all. With that came I'd set your idle to 850.
I'm just glad I could help you out on this. Over a year ago, it seemed this easy fix was a big secret...

Looking back through some old files it seems cams this size will start up at 14.8-14.9 AFR with a multiplier of 75, 78, 82% on the VE table below 1200. Thats an average wideband reading from about 40 cars with a 224 cam.

So you are say that you have multiplied the 1st 3 columns by .9 each time for a total of 2 times?
Does it look like this:
32 32 33
34 41 43
40 45 49
41 47 51
43 49 52
44 50 53

50 55 61
51 57 61
52 59 63
53 61 65
56 63 67
56 63 67
If you mutiply it by .7 from the stock Main VE, it should look like this:
27 28 29
29 35 37
34 39 42
36 41 44
37 42 45
38 43 46
40 44 47
41 45 47
41 46 48
41 47 49
41 47 50
41 47 51
42 47 52
43 48 53
44 49 53
45 51 55
46 53 56
48 55 57
48 55 57
Did you drill out you TB hole any? Have you adjusted your IAC Tables?
If you want, email me your file. If you do it within the next 45 minutes, I'll tweak it tonight and send it back to ya for you to try out.
