has anyone ever seen an LS1 take 32 degrees of timing? Think I need some help!!

I did a thread in the PCM section about how much a MAF should flow and I was guessing his heads aren't flowing like they should...

Thats a good point.A set of heads that just don't work with the setup can do what you describe. Also alot of LS6 type heads I have tuned like alot more timing than stock ported heads.Another thing could be a restriction in the exhaust side.I ran a SLP dual/dual in my Firehawk and it restricted it 35rwhp compared to the cutout on back to back runs.

I did make one pull open headers naturally I made more power. I'll have to look for that log and see where the maf was.
You say timing was at 28 were you seeing knock any higher than that?

Well maybe do that underdrive pulley too. I think it's okay to compare numbers to other on the forum but I mostly look at the other cars that use the same dyno as me.

The car was from Dayton area.
If I remember correctly, I think I tried 26 & 28 and it didn't make a difference. Technically, his car should have made more power than my current set up. I didn't do anything different on my tune to get my 423HP & 396 TQ.

After reading your MAF post and this one, perhaps my heads are NOT matched very well with my cam. And with 15K on my ISKY springs ( did you go with the same ones? ), perhaps a new set of heads with Patriot Dual Golds is in order.

Just to throw this out there the Z06 runs 43 degrees of timing WOT naturally aspirated on 91 octane. Gotta love that low compression LOL. Just for comparison, there is almost no power difference from 35 degrees to 43 degrees.

Lethal . . . that 10% PE with no change is w e i r d. Post what happens after you swap the pcm's.
