well I wont be getting all the red out... from my understanding +/- 5 is close enough ... so I'm starting off going +/-10 then +/-5 then maybe I'll try getting closer and closer ...

Heh heh. Keep us posted. I have a feeling this will get interesting...and then frustrating...and then maybe interesting again.

I have been playing with the ve tables for about 5 days now. I have almost got it +/- 2 in a few cells and 0 in all the others. The thing is, one day i can have nearly a perfect table...and the next day will be all off (+/- 7,8,9,10). What would cause this? The weather is rapidly changing the last week here in texas. Maybe that has something to do with it?

Weather is a big part of VE tuning.

Accurate IAT and air flow sensors are very critical.

So you mean to tell me that my marveled EFI is now acting like a temperamental carbeurator

Yep...I was noticing the same thing myself...I thought all these sensors where supposed to adjust for weather elements...Hell it just seems to make it worse.

I'm in the process of tuning for scratch again just using the VE table. Is it possible to change just VE to get LTFT from 15+ down to 0? Or will I have to also use MAF/IFR combo? I have no vacuum leaks.

You talking about the STFT's? Any chance you can post individual screen shots or your tables so we can see more detail?

I just looked at your table again, and it appeats that you posted the STFT histogram...You need to be tuning for your LTFT's not you STFT's...Was this inadvertant, or are you using the STFT histogram to try and get your VE in order. It is much more accurate to use the LTFT histogram...My VE is almost dead on...-2 to 0 throughout. (No green or red, just white ) I'll try to post up a screenshot when I get a chance.

While tuning for LTFT's is the norm, tuning for STFT's will be much more efficient as it is tuning for what is happening in real time instead of the average (LTFT) of the STFT.

This is what I've read somewhere else, although I tune for my LTFT's. I'm not quite cool enough to tune for STFT's yet.

PS. Horist also has Magnus as a tuning tool so I'd guess he's doing things the right way. (again this is from what I understand from reading other various posts)

I think he is using the STRIMS because they update faster and they are averaged to come up with the LTRIMS

Can someone explain exactly what the STrims are and what data is used to compose them?

Cool...I would "assume" that if one is in order, then the other should be as well. I revisiting my histogram right now...When are they going to put a fastforward button on this thing?

You can make it go different speeds, Preferences>Scanner Settings>Playback Speed

This is how I understand it.

STrims are the real time version of LTrims, they are adding or subtracting fuel to compensate for a lean or rich condition. LTrims are basically the average of the STrims. Positive numbers mean it's adding fuel to correct a lean condition, negative numbers is subtracting to correct a rich condition. Not sure if this is what you were looking for or not, but that is how I understand the fuel trims.

yeah I've got it set on full blast...but it still takes a while to get to the end of a log when you are logging 35 mins of data.
