I think my pcm is fighting itself. I set my shift points and tcc lockup points in the hot shift table for what I wanted at WOT. When will the pcm use this table compared to the normal table?

When it gets hot. It's a temperature thing.

That's a good question. I haven't seen anything on the
actual threshold temperature. Expect it's way hotter than
a smart man would let things get.

Use the "Normal" tables for everything to do with sporty
street driving. If you have a tow/haul button then this
will select the "Performance" table just like the cruise
button selects the "Cruise" table (among other things).

Hmmm... I guess if you had a switch inline with the
tranny temp sender, you could hardware force use of
the "hot" tables (and specific line on the force motor,
etc. too). If you wanted to forego the Hot mode
"protection" this could be the back door to either a
hacked "performance mode" or a valet mode- or
both I guess with a SPDT center-off switch. Hmmm....

In Edit there is a temperature threshold under the PE settings for WOT hot and cold. Mine was/is set at 142*, pretty sure this is centigrade coolant temp. So the engine would have to get *really* hot for it to switch to hot mode. I only edit the WOT Cold table.

Not sure if this temp setting also applies to the tranny tables. Seems like the tranny hot/cold tables should work off the tranny temp. I leave the hot tables alone.

One caution about trying to use the hot tables as a "switchable" tune. I think the PCM has some other "protection features" that would be activated if the engine or tranny switched over to the hot tables. For example, I suspect timing would switch to the low octane table. The hot tables might even put the PCM in full limp mode...?
