Predator Question...

Predator Question... I've got a predator for my car. I have a H/C LS1 Edit tune in the car now, but no longer have heads. I want to run my cam only tune from the predator in the car now, but i don't want to mess anything up. The Predator says only to tune the car from factory settings. Can i overwrite the ls1 edit or do i need to do something else?

Loading the Predator tune over the tweaked-up Edit tune
may push more spark advance than you can stand. If you
want to screw around this way I recommend you get the
software off the www.diablosporttuning.com site that lets
you pull out, store tunes to a PC using the Predator, and
lets you tweak things relative to what it found in place
rather than what the stock canned tune assumes. Dunno
if that site is up now, what with Ivan and all, but you
should check out the stuff there about how to use it and
dealing with nonstandard tune bases in general I think.
Aside from some top end efficiency I would not think your
tune needs much of a change, if a head swap (backward)
is all that's involved?

i bought this car from a friend, and he had a predator in it with a cam only tune. Once he got the heads he got a free ls1 edit tune, so he used that. He was unhappy with the heads, so took them off and kept the same tune. I want to put the cam only tune back in it b/c it's stored in the predator, this is why i am doing this.

Oh. I don't know if it works that way. I would think that the Predator tune would only be good over top of a stock tune. Maybe somebody else out there knows for sure.
