yes!

u can d/l the newest version online... its the cabling that really matters...

u cant do tuning with atap, but u can see many info that will help you with your tuning... like we found out i was maxing out my injectors on my car, so i got new ones put in, then later we found out i was maxing out my maf, so we changed the values and etc...

atap is a very useful program!

yeah, the software download is free but I bet you find that you like version 1 software better. I'm assuming it's version 1 firmware which means you'll have all the param's. $100 is a good deal.

Make sure you get the one with the enhanced parameters or it's not worth getting.

If it's firmware version 1 it'll have the enhanced already. They didn't have them seperated with version 1.

not good if you dont know how to use it. i got it for my b-day and have now clue on how to use it. so if you were to purchase it then i would sugest getting someone to teach you how to use or learn before buying.

Indispensible!

If you are mod'ing your car, that's what I would call it.

EFILive or some other LS1 specific software would be better. But, to have even version 1 of Autotap would be a giant step up.

How hard can it be? Install the software, plug the cable to your laptop and the OBDII port, start the software , crank your car and choose parameters you want to monitor.

No disrespect to Eiyse98ls1, but anyone who can't figure out how to use Autotap's basic features probably can barely make a post on a BBS.

You got a deal for $100 bucks.

You will probably get too many answers to this question as everyone has an opinion. Some of the software is generic, some scanning software is engine specific (LS1, LT1. etc), some only scan EPA generic etc. That being said, Ease is the most comprehensive LS1 scanning software (up to 68 functions) and can run real time. EFI live is next and is very comprehensive. It can also scan in real time. HPTuners has limited real time scanning, about 5 minutes, and limited functions, bu has broadbased forum support. Atap is the least effective of the scanning software, however, LS1 edit now owns the software and revisions are starting to come out. If you scan and want to email the file to a tuner, Ease and EFIlive are the best. A 20 minute drive with 2 or 3 bonzi acceleration runs (140 mph in a car) will give the tuner all the info they need for an excellent tune. HPTuners is good because of forum support and the tuning suite. You can make changes in the edit function and they scan immediately. IMHO

FYI the current release has longer scanning abilities (the original 1.0 software was more than 5 minutes, but was only 10,000 frames, current version can go up to 50,000 frames which is about 80 mins i think... and soon they'll have it where you can log indefinetly I believe)

That is great news, 80 minutes of logging plus the edit functions and forum support make the HPtuners hard to beat.
