Need Tunning Help Asap!! i am needing to know if there is anyone in this entire world that makes chips or has a whole ecu upgrade for the 96-00 7.4 liter 454 trucks. i have tried everyone that i can think of and so far no luck. i am in dire need of a tune because i am getting ready to put a cam and nitrous on the truck and i really want it to perform to it potential when i put it on the dyno. any help would be greatly appreciated 
I'd check out ed wright at http://www.fastchip.com/ or PCM4Less. You can go the low route and get a handheld program such as a hypertech but I doubt that'll unleash its potential. I'm unaware of any laptop programmer for the vortec motors.
Well, if I wasn't under anybody's smog thumb, I think
I would say the hell with the whole computer thing, get
one of the aftermarket tranny control boxes and refit
the rat for 4 good ole barrels of carburetion and points
the way God and nature intended.
And buy a wideband O2 meter to pick jets with.
