wouldnt it be safe to assume using the same sensor would give you the same readings though?

$330 for the basic kit shipped!

If you're still interested in the kit with the RPM pickup its going for $409, although with this cable the pickup won't be necessary.
Doh! I just ordered it direct from Innovate last night @ $349. Oh well.

So where's this Holy Grail software? They need to stop publishing dates and timelines if they can't stick to them. If published dates get pushed back then they need to proactively communicate that to their current/future customer base.

All I've heard are great things from HPT and I hope communications are on a professional level once they have my money. Heck I might as well wait to see what happens with FlashScan at this time. HPT Vaporware Suite v1.5 was released a whole two months after a quoted date and then they just kept saying 'soon, soon'. The update page for current customers was supposed to be finished yesterday as was the ordering page, and shipping started next week. Why should I start believing them now?

Set the release date, lock down a 'no-new features' date to avoid feature creep, and use the remaining development window to kill bugs. This project was not managed well at all.

Is the wideband for tuning, or does the computer tune the engine with wideband in real time?

It's just for tuning/datalogging... very few engine PCMs actually use wideband O2s in place of the narrowband ones.

So you just need to order the HP tuners with Wideband capability and then purchase a wideband o2 sensor to make it work??

You can use HPTuners without the wideband. The
analog input ports just allow you to log wideband
data in time-sync with your other engine data so you
can see the whole picture, like what you were telling
it and what you got for mixture on the same page,
so to speak.

So you still need to purchase a wideband kit like the inovate, not just a wideband O2 sensor?

Correct. The sensor needs special controlling and
calibration that the meters provide; the HPTuners
(and other analog I/O cables such as EFILive's) are
just about datalogging, not care-and-feeding.

Did anyone else notice you can customize the chart display now? That's awesome. I bet there's a ton of other stuff I haven't found yet.

They're supposed to start shipping v1.5 tomorrow (er, later today at this point). I think v1.4x & the base version of v1.5 are the same cost, so I presume you'll just get 1.5. Unless they shipped your 1.4 last Monday.
