24.5 max timing? will I gain going to 27.5?
I redyno'd to check the tuning since we tuned in hot weather. Other changes were a switch to Royal Purple synthetic oil 10w-30 (from normal dino oil 10w-30), added the bullet muffler with the cutout right before the I-pipe goes over the axle, and of course the outside temp was much cooler (72 degrees for this pull as per atap). I gained 6 hp and 8 tq.
i feel much better about these numbers because i thought my tq before was a little low. now me much happier
here was the dyno from over the summer (h/c vs B1 cam only):
max timing was 24.5. sounds low. i wonder if i was on the low octane time table? there was only 1/4 tank of gas left; maybe i should have filled up before the dyno? i wonder what it would have made if i got the normal 27.5 degrees timing that i used to get when i was cam only. 420? i'll atap some runs on the street to see if i get more timing after a full tank.

You will see timing pulled out for elevated IAT, ECT,
or ping. Sitting on the dyno gives you a lot less
cooling airflow than rolling on the street.
A car that breathes well may be able to stand less
timing than a stocker. But in either case you have to
find your limit, before you know you've got the max
(and then back off by 1-2 for luck and the weather).
