You betcha get that gm junk off that hotrod. Ohio Generator and powermaster make two of the best alternators produced. Neither need custom brackets and both make 200 amps at operating temperature and 1000rpm. I have two one on the bird and another on my 98' pu. Both are about 3 years old and no hiccups. Just upgrade the wire from the cattery to the back of the alternator when you change it.

Ohio Generator and possibly powermaster while capable of 200 amps at high rpm have extremly poor idle performance. Less output than stock alternators infact. If your worried about max HP, they also have a bit more drag that'll take another hp or two. Think of it as adding a high lift cam, to achive high output, you have to give up some low end, such as the way the alternators are designed. Unless you are burning up stock alternators left and right with your stereo, I wouldnt bother with a 200amp.
