Default Wideband install tip... + a priceless moment..

The O2 sensor must be positioned vertically between, [10 and 2 o'clock],
to prevent cracking of the sensors ceramic elememt at the start up; due
to water condensation. [ per Zeitronix install sheet. ]

Priceless moment-
After dialing in an AFR of 12.6
Traction control light came on, and the rear broke loose on the 2-3
Automatic shift at 80 MPH...

I gained a solid tenth after tuning to an AFR of 12.6
I had to take away 9% via PE/RPM, to get 12.6

I installed my wideband bung at 3:00 on the pipe
but I don't leave it in there except when I want
data.

What is your exhaust style, do you have narrowband
O2 voltage readings that correspond to your 12.6:1?

I want to see how those compare with my stock logs,
12.7:1=870mV correlation.

That may be what zextronics says but it contradicts what the sensor manufacturers
say. They want the sensor at about 2:30 or 9:30 position so condensation won't run
into them or hang on them as in a drop. This is straight from their site , and also denso's installation instructions.

I too installed the bungs at 3 o'clock, before ordering the wideband kit.
I also removed the wideband sensor after I got my car dialed in.

Maybe this info, & z-ya's info, will help someone with their setup.

I found out in another post, that if you don't keep the sensor
powered up at all times, it will die...

jimmyblue - you da man

I think that I have read a 100 of your posts/replys this past week.
Your insight and knowledge is greatly appreciated by myself, and
I'm sure many others.
Thanks for taking your time to respond to our posts.
Your thoughts & answers have helped me alot.

To answer your questions jimmyblue.
I have JBA shortys, Mufflex cat bypass pipes with random metallic cats welded within these pipes. The 'ball' ends have been cut off & factory ends welded on. An LG Motorsports 2.5" 304 stainless y-pipe. SLP 2OTL catback.

Factory O2s read 865mv at my 12.6 AFR setting.
