Cam tuning Got a 224/224 cam going in with Mototron 60# injectors. I am just wondering what needs to be tuned?
I know the IFR table has to be set for the injectors, not a prob
But what about the cam? What tables, if any, need to be adjusted?

Is that all I really have to do to tune the cam????? Or do I have to mess with VE?
I have experience with IFR, PE, and Timing, but havent messed with the VE table yet.

The cam is really all about volumetric efficiency. If you
get a VE table that makes sense a lot of stuff will just
fall right out. But, it can be some work. The elevated
MAP at idle will mess some things around especially at
cold starts (check how chubby, the open loop fuel air
table at higher MAP and lower temps).
There is some standard advice about shaving the lowest
three columns of the VE table but I believe that every
cam wants more than this; the table needs to be
reshaped for the cam's effects for best drivability, even
though the MAF "takes over" at the upper end where
you dyno the speed-density tune is what makes transient
throttle and "anything but steady state" work right.
