I can reflash your computer and perform any other mods you might desire.

Anyone w/HPT for a 98 should be able to do this for you... best solution would prolly be to just reflash the PCM w/an M6 file (sticky on top of page has all the stock .bins you'll need... 98 PCMs MUST use 98 F-Body .bin files)

May help if you post where in IL you are... Also several local sponsors that can help

FinishLine Performance (www.flp2win) Naperville
Speed Inc (www.ls1speed.com) Schaumburg
StraightLine Performance (not sure of URL they're a new sponsor) ... I believe they're in orland park..

i actually have hptuners for a 98 i just didnt know if there was anything further than x'ing out the automatic functions.. and which functions i really needed to get rid of... reason being is all the manuel programs on mine are all blacked out and im not sure what it takes to get them turned on.. maybe as simple as using a m6 bin file and flashing it into my pcm..

You could also go to the HP Tuners' forums and find out what you need to do.

Isnt the OS half of the computer different? I seem to recall something about a4 having an OS with transmission type 1, and m6 having a transmission type 2. I think only hptuners pro allows you to flash the OS portion, atleast until ver 1.6 comes out.

Or Maybe its not all that difficult at all.

what is your OS id?

I just flashed my 98 M6 with all of the GM updates a few days ago, and have hp as well.

you can copy & paste from an M6 file, but DO NOT reflash your computer with a file from another 98 ! 98's use a different protocol, if you flash your ecm with the file from another car you may fry the computer.

to convert yours simply open your bin file , delete A4 vales and paste in the values from another 98 M6 bin, you can find lots of them in the repository, then flash it

I didn't know this... I thought as long as it's a 98 F-Body .bin file you could just rewrite the entire PCM w/HPT Pro ... but if there's *any* chance of problems i wouldn't do it then (follow currentman's advice)
