Is a Diablo Predator worth $350
Is a Diablo Predator worth it? I know everyone will say HPT is the way to go but the $150 I save could go towards other mods and I am not sure I want to spend HOURS figuring out the HP and the fine points of tuning. It is my daily driver so I really cant go too wild on the mods.
What ya think?

Tell you what, I have both and the Predator has been in a
bag ever since. Particularly once you get past the free mods
the Predator will be insufficient for you, and you'll need to
be getting email tunes from RWTD or something like that.
With an A4 there's no question, get a tool with the detail
access. Part throttle trans action is key to street
responsiveness.
If you have drivability issues from the headers or more
serious mods in your car's future, I'd say to just go
straight for the cheese even if it takes another payday
or two. It's not like you have to jump up and be a
tuning fu master right off. You can start off with
whatever you wanted to use the Pred for, which will
be simple, and study up as you encounter more
involved things you want to modify. At least, you
will have the option to - when and how you want.

Both Horist & jimmy should be listened to, even when they take opposite views!
Predators are nice. They come with performance tunes loaded in that wake up your car. They add some timing & delete Torque Management. Both are good things. And then you can tweak a little & learn & not hurt things. And clear codes.
If you're going to get a Predator, buy a used one.
I have a used one I'll sell you cheap. $75 shipped. Then you'll have to pay RWTD $75 for the re-flash +$100 more for unlimited custom tunes (if needed/wanted).
But the HP does do a lot more. You can change everything. Which is a double edged sword.
