There was a sorta-GP deal when they first rolled out
the EIO upgrade, if I recall. But in general they don't
seem to be that eager to encourage people by price.
Because it's not like there's anything close, cheaper,
yet.
If it's half price in two years, I'll have had two years
of tuning for a hundred bucks annual "rent". Price
compression is characteristic of consumer electronics
and competitive markets. The alternative would be,
umm, kinda like a couple year back when all there
was, was Edit, the price was high, the license was
greedy, and the pace of improvement was roughly
squat. Remember those "good old days"? Yeah, huh.
Sure, I'd gladly pay less. But I wasn't gonna wait two
years to tune my car, for that. When I want to laugh
at myself I think about my Predator and how, 3 years
ago, I thought it was a good deal and an adequate
tool. Now that's funny.

ok, heres what you do..
get a buddy..... say your buddy has a 99... you have a 00.
you two split the cost.. 250 bucks each... and order it for 99s and 00s.
there ya go... you dont need the cable on a constant basis, so its pretty easy to share. you and your buddy just saved $$
and if you get good at it... you could help other people with the same year cars as what you have... and possibly get some of your money back out of it.... O2 sims cost $80 new... $50 used..... so you could help someone, and get $40 (or more) to get your investment back.... removing rear O2s is easy.. you get $$, and they get a deal....

It's a great bang for the buck even without the trade-in program. With the trade-in program is a killer deal. They did a short gp on www.corvetteforum.com but it was also probably done to offset the much hire cost of advertising there and to get the word out. I'm sure they did not make any money on the gp.
