changiing stoich setting???

Default changiing stoich setting???

has anybody ever tried to change the stoich setting from 14.7 to something like 13.5 or anything like that...to richen up Part throttle(for like when you are at the drag strip on street tires and need to launch at part throttle and feather out the clutch to get traction before you go WOT)...to get a little more umph from part throttle acceleration..and to help keep down lean spikes from letting off of of WOT at the end of a hard run at the dragstrip?

just curious...thinking outside of the box.....

to do that You'll want to do an open loop tune ... the narrowband O2 sensors aren't accurate enough to maintain an AFR outside 14.7:1 or very close to it... but, if you do an open loop tune, you can then tune whatever AFR you want for part throttle using a wideband

but how do I make it always use the open loop tune??? do a VE tune???

Yup, i believe that's how people do it... in HPT there's an option to tell the car at what temp to go into closed loop... if you make that temp really high it'll never hit closed loop... then you tune whatever RPM/Loads you want for 13.5:1 via VE, and continue to use PE (though since the VE is set for 13.5:1 now I think you'll use 13.5/PE value for PE add) for when appropriate throttle is applied

Why don't you just change your PE enable to a lower throttle setting?

thats not a bad idea either....
I just got my hptuners... so I am still on the learning curve...and asking a lot of questions...

I am thinking outside the box a little ( I have to do it often in my line of work )
and I know it is just as important to tune part throttle as well as WOT
