Default usb to serial converter

im lookin for a usb to serial converter. i have found them from $13 to $100. what is a good price for them. i ordered proscan and forgot my laptop doesnt have a serial port. from proscan the cable is 26 w/s&h. i think im just goin to order it from them.

I've had good luck with keyspan's adapter. It was around $40 shipped. Stay away from the Belkin one. Didn't work for crap.

I went to comp usa and picked one up for 49.00 you can get them as low as 29.00 there but thats all they had in stock when i was there. works great

yea, the Keyspan one is the one id reccomend too.... i was having problems with some serial adapters here at work... when Jays Belkin one kept crapping out, i did a little research on it and the keyspan one was reccomended to me by kieth at HPtuners...

i had my boss order one or work and it solved our serial connection prob too....

so you wouldnt recommend me order the one Proscan has? i looked at compusa.com and the one they had was a IOGEAR for $29.38+s&h.

I am using IOgear usb-serial connector I bought from Best Buy for $29.99 and haven't had any problems out of it using LS1-edit.

bought one from radio shack that works perfect... unfortunately...I dont remember the $$$ but it was under $30 I think

hptuners here BTW

I went ahead and got it from best buy. w/ 2day shipping it was only $36. i cant wait till i get my proscan! ha. thanks guys for the input!!!!
