Ok To Settle The Svo Injector Ratings
EDIT: It seems we were all a little misled! I will update here as we go!
*************************************************
http://www.fordracingparts.com/parts...tKeyField=5772
See note at the bottom! No more of this 3 bar BS!!!
*************************************************
Just got off the horn with Ford Racing tech line and they have advised that the SVO injectors are rated at (drum roll please):
XX.X # @ 40 psi
(EDIT 6/21/2005) But that doesn't mean **** Read down through the thread and you will see that Bosch P/N can make all the difference. The P/N is on the actual injector itself.
SVO 30 #ers: (Coming soon)
SVO 42 #ers - P/N 0 250 150 558: 41.47 @ 40 psi
Scale accordingly tuners!

hmmm... what is it that makes some injectors behave linearly with fuel pressur and others don't?
I believe the ones Racetronix cells don't scale linearly so you use the (new pressure/old pressure)^.5 formula to get the scalar
This is for the SVO 30s correct? Do you know if all SVOs scale linearly?

I've always used the ^.5 formula to get the scalar?

(dumped the dup post for ya)
OK... I think I get what you're sayin... ford advertises the same injectors at different flow rates based on application (fuel pressure) ?

All scale like this? or are all 40# injectors?
I've been in meetings all day so maybe my brain's just fried... but I'm cornfused?
an SVO 30lb at 3 bar, scaled using the ^.5 formula yields only 35lb .. but if it was linear then it'd be 39.xx lb which depending on what 30 is exactly (30.xx) could round to 40
My injectors are FMS 42lb injectors... that's SVO correct? Or am I totally out of it right now?

Here's what we have then though. Let's take a 30#er for example.
If we scale linearly then we end up with:
58/40 psi (said rating) x 30 = 43.5 lb/hr on LS1
If we do our little exponential scale:
(58/40psi - said rating)^.5 x 30 = 36.1 lb/hr on LS1
So the latter seems more consistent with everyone saying the 30#ers run more like 36#ers for us. I've been searching to quell this damn confusion most all day... lol Here's another quote I've found surfing around:
I was told by ford and by Corvette forum that they actually flow 36lbs/hr...
Linear: 40 lb/hr
Exp: 34.6 lb/hr
Which BTW, linear scaling would be incorrect for anyone who misses that little sq root.

I am thinking that the FMS/SVO injectors are rated at the Ford rail pressure and that's how they are advertised. Like said above, Cobra owners all talk about how they have 39#ers stock, but when recalculated at 3 bar, they are 42#ers.
Kinda like how for us, we have 26# and 28# but that's rated at 4 bar since we run that rail pressure.

oh crap... slap me w/a fish and call me stinky!
I didn't notice the PSI after the 40!
I was thinking the 30lbers are 40lbers in our cars or something along those lines...
Ok makes sense... ford uses 40psi so the 4 bar 3 bar formula won't work , need to use the actual PSI
ok I'm no longer cornfused
wowza... so my injectors flow about 52lb/hr at my current fuel pressure... no wonder my WOT pulse width is only 12ms

Are you sure they didn't get lazy and round the number?
Back in my old 5.0 days (mid-90's) they were always rated at 39.15# (according to Bosch for Ford).

the factory calibrations for the 2003-4 cobras, and lightnings are VERY close when it comes to injector size for both the high and low slopes. with the 03 cobras having a delta P of 39#'s from rail to manifold. not totally sure for the lightnings, but i believe it to be around 39-39.8#'s

I personally use the 39.15psi rating with my SVO 36s (works out to about 45.30lbs/hr @ my 62psi fuel pressure) and it seems to be right on.....
as someone stated, realize that the difference between .15 and .5psi is only a change of .2lbs/hr........not only is that within the computers ability to adjust but I would bet you see more fluctuation with the returnless system in fuel pressure when you punch the gas than that.....
