Maf table question

Default Maf table question

Question 1: Why does the stock maf table flatten out at the end of the curve? It's not because the maf stops flowing any more air.

Question 2: What is the frequency range of a maf? Not refering to the frequency limit of the computer.

The PCM was designed to support any member of a family of engines defined by limits such as maximum RPM and horsepower. A fundamental requirement of the PCM is that the PCM itself should not limit engine performance. Therefore the range of the various PCM tables must exceed the intended operating range of engines using the PCM. Flat spots at the end of tables that are not flat elsewhere almost always indicate regions beyond the intended operating range. This is certainly true in the case of the LS1 MAF table.

The curve flattens out because it is a non-linear transfer function, Ax^2+Bx+C, just the nature of the beast.

We had a couple MAFs hooked up to an oscilliscope and some fake air; both pegged pretty desicively at around 12-13 kHz.
