Default Hypertech + Custom TUNE = problems??????

I somehow wiped out my custom tune on my 1999 Z28 and was wondering if anyone in Wisconsin had Hp tuners for that year and would maybe reload my tune back in. I had it tuned in IL. a week ago, and Tony from Straightline told me he could just send the file over and reload it. So if anyone could do that for me, u would save me a 5 hour trip! Thanks

Also, here is what happened -->https://ls1tech.com/forums/pcm-diagnostics-tuning/328169-stupid-problem-helppp.html
Now when i reload my tuning in, is the fact that the Hypertech missing going to cause any problems w/ my tune?? None of the settings in the hypertech were being used such as the engine tuning or the tire size or speedometer calculation for different gears. So it was just kinda there, but not doing anything. Is this going to throw off my tune if it is no longer there period? Thanks

Now I can get the tune from Straightline and have it reinstalled, but will the fact that the hypertech is no longer there effect anything. The hypertech was not even being used for anything, no engine tuning from it, tire size, nothing at all. It was just kinda there.

HPTuners does what the hypertech does plus a million more things. the hypertech not being there will not affect your performance. you can set up through HPTuners exactly what you might have had done by hypertech anyways. if i still had mine, i'd be willing to help. where are you located? visit www.brewcitymuscle.com/forum and see if anyone else has it, that's a local milwaukee board

You may want to check out ubb.mfba.org also in the wisconsin section... see if anyone w/a 99 HP Tuners license is going to be in Milwaukee for the power tour this weekend. (i'm going to be in milwaukee but only have an 00 and 02 license )
