Hey Phil, how about that ETC tuning writeup you promised me a while back?

Could you send me the WHOLE explanation of the *0.48 thing? I'm not seeing it right now, could you take me through the process?

For a C5 the "ETC Scalar Area" is adjusted - not the effective area.
For a 90 mm TB a value of .0320 works well for most.
Ported 78 mm TB would be between .0255 and .0320 ??

So all you need to do is just the Scaler area and not both? Cause someone kept saying the Effective area alone doesnt do anything but if you do both, it works like a champ.

Just change the scaler, from my research I have not seen any change by adjusting the effective area.

Nick looked at my car as he was curious how my IAC was and when he logged it on my efi live i was running 60~61 at idle and he said that was fine and my car is running better than it ever was, haven't changed a thing in the IAC or TB tables.

also where in efi live is that scaler...I'm under idle and I see IAC area, idle speeds, start up correction, idle airflow, idle airflow parked....etc

You don't need it since you don't have an electronic throttlebody.

so this effective area table and the scaler, which the scaler is the only thing you need to change Is only for electronic TB's....computer controlled. I was just wondering where it is.

ZL1Killa,
In EFI it is called {B4349} ETC Throttle Area Conversion. Use the Navigator to find it.

yeah scalar is for drive by wire (since if you log iac steps in them it will always say the same, it moves the TB blade for the airflow). effective area is what we need to do on our throttle bodys with a cable.

That is the correct factor you use but for some reason the C5 doesn't even use that table. you can 0 it out and see no difference.

Call me stupid, but I don't understand the formula enough to use it myself.

What would it be usiing a 92mm throttle body?
