Default HPTuners or LS1.edit-which one?

I don't want to start a big fight here, but I've narrowed it down to HPTuners and LS1.edit. This will be used on my (2) Z-28's, so that is an important consideration. For my situation, which is better?

How did you narrow it down to HP Tuners and LS1 Edit? Edit shouldn't even be considered. Do a search on this for HP Tuners and EFI Live/FlashScan. That is what you "should" be considering unless you own two 98's.

I own a 2000 and a 2001. I heard that Hypertech was not worth considering, and the only others ones I knew of were HP Tuners and LS1.edit. I appreciate the help, as I don't know enough to choose which one to buy. I will do the research now that you have told me.

I had LS1 Edit and traded it in for HP Tuners. LS1 Edit was the market leader and has fallen way behind. Besides, it does not come with a scanner. With HP Tuners, you will need two model years. Then, you can tune as many vehicles as you want within the chosen model years. Since upgrading to HPT, the write speed is way faster and the editor is way more user friendly. The editor, scanner and flash use the same cable simplying the tuning process. I have not used Flashscan and I hear it is very good too. Don't bother with LS1 Edit and save yourself some frustration.

I love FlashScan and would not buy LS1Edit. If you do want edit I have one I will sell you but you would have to send it back to carputing to have it reset. That only cost $100+. Software upgrades are also only $100+. Edit does not have a good logging software. EFILive has been in the logging business for years. EFILive's flashscan has logging and tuning in one package and software upgrades are free forever. They also have their own web site for support. LS1Edit has no forum or any support to speak of. HPTuners also has their own forum. I have never had HP but many people here use it.

HPtuners would be the choice for you then.... when you buy it, you get to pick two model years.... so get 01 and 00 fbodies, and you can do both cars.

i havent messed with EFI live, but i wouldnt give up my HPtuners for anything right now.. lol.

i really like my HP Tuners. i haven't done much with it, but it is really user friendly, especially for a newb like me. i have no experience with EFILive. id suggest checking out the websites for both companies and maybe talking to the owners

I'm a newbie on this group, and asked because I didn't know. No fights, please. It's for my 2000 and 2001 Z-28's. I got a lot of useful info. Thanks guys. Here's a photo of the cars before mods (sold the white one) and here's a better one of mine:

FlashScan uses USB. It takes 32 seconds to flash my PCM and I flash it a lot. It has a connection for WB and a AutoTune Feature. The whole package is software friendly.

efi live also uses USB....they say that HP Tuners is the most user friendly to start off with. It also has all the guides written up already...then again EFI LIVE just got them written up also.

feel free to check out www.efilive.com and download their demo version
