Default hp tuners help

I have a 99c5, i purchased hptuners with a lisc. for 99 and 2002.
I downloaded a bin from the hp site for a 2002 c5 changed all of my tables to match.
I set up the bin file to force VATS relink.
I fired up flash selected rewrite the entire VCM
loaded the file it read fine but after I rewrote the VCM the security light stayed on and the car will not start.
when I tried to reconnect to the VCM it said that I did not have a liscence for this year and showed that the VIN was a bunch of strange char's (they look like y's with some funkie dots above them)WTF.
now I cannot get back into the VCM but it still comunicates but HPtuners does not reconize the VIN as a year that it supports.

I tried to change the vin and it tells me that the vin # that came with the os that I downloaded is not valid for the os WTF.

any way, any help would be apreciated, anbd yes I have sent a email to suipport at hptuners but it took them 2 weeks to get back to me the last time.

thanks hptuners!

I think rewriting the VCM with a different make/model
is a very bad thing. I don't know why they let you do
that. Now your VCM thinks it's a different 'Vette but
it can't feel its legs.

I believe that '99 had a somewhat different wiring
harness than '02.

I think maybe you should try and find a .bin (like on
Horist's site) that matches your car's original personality
and "write entire" that. If you didn't save your original.

Did you try to jam an entire '02 'vette executable
rather than just copy-and-paste the relevant bits
of data?

I took a 2002 bin and changed the injectors,ve,maf tables and anything else that looked off.

but my problem is that now hptuners will not let me work on it because it does not reconize the vin WTH?

I was trying to get rid of the secondary VE table.

thanks for any help.

Just a long shot but try disconnecting the battery for a while and see if it straightens out. Also, will the scanner connect?

thanks guys I got it.

seems that the flash aborted right after scrambling my vin #.
it gave me the all is clear mesage but I guess that is was FU'ed.
I got to digging around and found that the os id number had not changed, so I changed the vin # back to a 99 model and it worked.

I then rewrote the VCM with the 2002 file and it worked this time, and it runs great.

for anyone is intrested, the steps that I took:
1. download 2002 bin file from hptuners.
2. opened my last bin file and the new 2002 bin in hptuners.
3. worked my way thru all of the tables and settings (the most important were the injector settings, the maf cal, the ve tables and any other things that have been changed in my 99 bin).
4. set the VATS relink setting in hp.
5. rewrote the intire VCM (be very careful here).
6. wait 20 sec, turn off for 20 sec, turn on wait 20 sec, turn off for 20 sec, then restart (worked perfect).
7. say good bye to the secondary ve table

btw I have a lic for a 99 and 2002 (have to have)

ps only down side is that my vin # is now a 2002.
