Default soo.. any of you other guys with Hptuners 2.0 figure out how "Tach output" works?

i just saw it... it would be GREAT for me since im a hybrid car... ditch the 4cy->8cyl converter box for my factory tach and run it from the PCM...

any of you guys know what the numbers need to be?

Keith just replied over on HPT forums
http://www.hptuners.com/forum/YaBB.p...5506;start=3#3

looks like it's trial and error , adjust until the output is as expected (so I'd guess change it, flash, hold 1000 RPM or so based on the scanner, and see how far off the tach is then, then move accordingly)

The number of output pulses P is calculated as P=24/(N*2) where N is the value of this calibration.

Sample values for this calibration:
For 12 pulses, use N= 1
For 6 pulses, use N= 2
For 4 pulses, use N= 3
For 3 pulses, use N= 4
For 2 pulses, use N= 6
For 1 pulse, use N=12

Maybe that will get you started...

N=6 same as you see in HPT

With 2.0 cant you copy/compare different calibrations or if you ahve 1.7 you can painfully go through the whole tune and copy it over or with 2.0 you can export the changes and re import them to a 02 bin.

Maybe someone with 2.0 will chime in I am just spouting this off from memory of the features added in the new version

you can but it would be tedious & a real pita, hopefully the import/export feature will be activated soon....that would make things much easier. Although in this case it really wouldnt

i wouldnt chance that...

if i have to flash him as a 02, i'll retune it myself from scratch.. atleast then i'll know exactly whats been done.

mostly all i wanted to do was a simple switch to a V8 tach output so his tach, window switches, ect... were correct. But i cant change it because its not on the screen...
