rpms go too high with ac on

trying to help out a guy on here and i dont have the ac on my car so i dont know the first thing to do to fix it, but the rpms go really high with the ac on and hang very high as well. this is on a 6 speed car, any suggestions?

Mods? Have you messed with the A/C on type crap in HPT (like the airflow adder, etc -- sorry, don't have my software in front of me)?

havnet messed with any ac airflow dont knwo what to do. its a 383 with heads and a cam aroudn 240 duration

In EFI Live there is a rpm setting for AC...I just adjusted that. I didn't know if there was another method.

There should also be an airflow adder of some sort for the A/C on...of all the days I left my laptop at home

Don't know if this could be it, but when one of the lines to my catch can cracked my AC on idle rpm would hang at 1300rpm. With the ac off it was higher than normal (around 900rpm), but not too high (small crack). If you can't find a reason for the high idle tuning-wise, you might want to look for small vac leaks.
